We had one of those unforgettable family afternoons on Sunday. The sky was blue, few clouds scattered in recognisable shapes, a distant micro-glider buzzing above the barley fields. The Farmer was sawing down hedges, keeping himself busy in the Spring sun whilst Amy and I played hide and seek, her idea; mine was to sit down and play a board game. One of Amy's hiding places was behind the greenhouse, made of glass. I had no problem finding her on that occasion.
We decided to join the Farmer in the end, walking down the field to be greeted by 4 excited collies, bounding towards us. I couldn't miss the opportunity of taking the camera and the camcorder, so here's a little vlog snippet for you, it's only a minute in length, without my ugly mug, so quite safe to watch.
I love how ordinary special days become so extraordinarily wonderful. You've captured this well here, even with the buzz of the distant micro-glider. I felt like I was there! I wish somehow I could capture these moments more. Well done for getting the video out.
ReplyDeleteLove the Farmers laugh!

ReplyDeleteRecording a sunny day is a good way to cheer up a future wet one!
ReplyDeleteIt's the simple things often that are the most memorable. And can I have that little lamb on your header... love him!
ReplyDeleteHow Fun to hear your voices!! Looked like everyone was having a good time!!
ReplyDeletehughugs

ReplyDeletelovely doggies, I had two border collies once such a nice breed. Amy looks very relaxed :D
ReplyDeleteAww, It's lovely just getting a sneak peak of a happy family being together.
ReplyDeleteI also felt I was there. Looking at the video was like a slice of peace in an otherwise hectic day. Loved it... a lot.
ReplyDeleteSeemed so serene.
ReplyDeleteI do want to point out one small thing. I have noticed on a lot of blog (and I am guilty sometimes of this too), we tend to put ourselves down and insult ourselves.
I know a lot of times it is for the humor, but I don't think you have an ugly mug and I wish you would not say things like that about yourself. Even in jest we oftentimes internalize the words and feelings.
Hope it is okay I said something.
Feeling pangs of envy here. You accepting visitors at the moment? :D Jen.
ReplyDeleteGreat video! Looks like everyone is having fun. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSusie - Of course you can say that I don't have an ugly mug! I didn't think I did have anyway, I guess I'm just too British for my own good. You're right, we do put ourselves down too much, but on Friday (if not tomorrow, I intend to change that somewhat on my blog by the post I have in mind). Thank you for pointing it out. Freedom of speech, I say. Especially when paying compliments!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments, CJ xx
A lovely relaxing time for you all. A
ReplyDeleteI love days like this - they seem to be so much better than the days you plan and expect to be brilliant!
ReplyDeleteJust showed my little one this and she couldn't believe you had four dogs! I told her about your lambs that you're expecting and I've been ordered to show her any pics or videos straight away!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely day :) I love it when the sun comes out to play
ReplyDeleteHmmm sunshine and frolics. looks great CJ x
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for that little lamb in your header- adorable!
Won't be long to this year's new ones, and I hope your snow has all melted by now. It's still freezing every night here- very unusual, I'm fed up of it, enough is enough!
awe cant beat a family day out and I LOVE the lamb at the top awe how cute, great story happy times, great writer xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful video. It was like listening to my aunt/cousins from 'oop north', you sounded so totally familiar. And Amy's initial giggle when the 2nd dog walked over her lap was almost musical.
ReplyDeleteAs for the dogs - what can I say? We used to have a collie called Robbie. Mad dog. Used to herd us all like sheep on our walks. I really miss him having him around.
Single Mum - Video especially for your daughter. Watch this space.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments, CJ xx
those are the day memories are made of.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day for your family. The pups were enjoying as well.
ReplyDeleteAmy has an infectious and sweet laugh.
Hasn't your daughter got a lovely little laugh? Could brighten anyone's day...
ReplyDeleteYes, Amy has a wonderful laugh. It's such a lovely moment when listening to her giggling at the television.
ReplyDeleteThank you for watching the Vlog and for leaving comments.

Oh, CJ, you just made my day with that vlog! I got sick on Wednesday with a nasty virus, and I am just now getting back online. This was the first post I read today, and it really made me smile! It was very sweet, and definitely too cute. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your life! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are almost making me miss Devon, where I was brought up. London has no lambs (not counting the freezer section...) and very few border collies. I think I'll have to go for a ramble on the, er, common tomorrow. Not quite the same, is it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dogs, and they look well cared for.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very nice Sunday! I loved the video clip, what a sweetheart she is! ~ Coreen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dogs! Oh how I wish I could have a dog like that, but unfortunately they would have a horrible life in a small apartment in the middle of Oslo. If I'm getting new pets, I guess I'm getting ferrets again.
