The theme for this week's Gallery, hosted by Tara at Sticky Fingers, is "Still Life". The first thing I thought about was art class at school, but my pictures weren't a pretty sight, believe me. So I browsed through my stored photos and came up with this:
And this:
Takes you back, doesn't it.

Great photos. Gave me a chill.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't get much stiller than that! Lovely photos :)
ReplyDeleteI love the second image, but no more smow, the sun is shining and wippee
ReplyDeleteCJ,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those photos. It made me sad because I've only ever seen snow three times. As a result, like most other deprived southerners, I love snow. It is magical to me in a complex way. Snow is the perfect combination of complicated scientific fact meets vividly beautiful and mysterious art.
Thank you again for sharing. More photos! More writing!

The longest and worst winter I can remember. Let's hope the photographs remain the only snowy scenes we see for years to come! Bring on the sunshine, the summer and happier days..
ReplyDeleteI love snow!!! It reminds me that we actually got some this year.
ReplyDeleteWell that's a much needed freeze! In Puerto Rico, we are steaming hot!! And yes, those photos are indeed STILL...they give me such a quiet feeling. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos, snow makes everything so still and quiet:) Jen
ReplyDeleteNice Shots Sweetie! You did Good!
ReplyDeleteLooks COLD!Hahaa
hughugs
Beautiful! Looks like a wonderland!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Although, it won't be too long and we'll be right back at that time of year.... (ah! I HATE that we have short summers here in midwestern USA)...
ReplyDeleteAnn - Gave me one too at the time, lol.
ReplyDeleteElaine - It was pretty still at the time!
TheMadHouse - Definitely don't need more snow! Had plenty this year as you can see.
Sunny Insomniac - 3 times!! Come and live up here and that'll soon change. I'm sure you won't enjoy it either when it stops you doing anything. I hate the stuff!
Blodwen - I'll look back on these next winter and compare...!
Tater's Corner - Argghh, we certainly did!
Cynthia - I would very much like to be steaming hot sometimes! But these days I can't stand it unless it's of a passionate variety!
Jen - It does doesn't it, round here that's because no one goes out!
Donna - Very cold, hugs!
Shauna - It does look like a wonderland but once you went outside that all changed!
Thank you for your comments, CJ xx
I love seeing snow that has yet to be walked in - I would
ReplyDeleteOve to step into this snow and leave my size 7's everywhere lol
I am definitely not ready to be looking at snow again. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty though. In a "don't come anywhere near me for a very long time" sort of way. :)
It could only have been yesterday. My biggest fear is that it might be tomorrow...!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, I'm glad the snow has gone x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Crystal!
ReplyDeleteoooh yes! really does take me back.. and it is "very still"!
ReplyDeleteit's STILL winter isn't it ? Sure is, when I look at the sky !
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures, no nostalgy though, next year maybe !
I was only thinking yesterday how far we've come since then...and yet it feels like yesterday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures....I have happy memories of being snowed in with the children for six days. :0)
brrrrrrrrrrr illiant pics, hope we dont see this for a while xx
ReplyDeleteLove them! Looking back it looks so beautiful but I remember getting quite sick of it over Christmas! x
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI want to just stand in that snow and look out over those fields with a huge mocca coffee in between my hands and gaze- beautiful, I love the snow. Thanks for joining me! x
ReplyDeletebrrr...the suns out and i am shivering...smiles.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos that make me miss snow. No snow here, not ever. Maybe a couple of frosts a year that leave white patches, that's it. Just gorgeous winter wonderland.
ReplyDeleteI feel cold looking at that snow! Brrrrr...
ReplyDeleteI love these photos, especially the second one. Snow is so pretty! Until it turns to annoying slush...
ReplyDeleteOh, I love them! I know I'm in a minority, but I adore winter. I'm always a little bit sad when the shortest day passes and the nights stop getting darker earlier and earlier.
ReplyDeleteSo still and calm, beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed to see to help me cool down in this Florida heat and humidity! Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does! Makes me want to put the kettle on and snuggle up by the fireplace (if I had one). :-) Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteWow what great pictures, I love untouched snow, there is something so magical about it. Like you don't want to go and ruin it. Beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal Jigsaw, this is francescajlewis from twitter. I have been meaning to drop in on you for AGES as we are of course both in the same boat - my son was diagnosed ASD last May. What a shocker. I have read your comments on other ASD Mums' blogs and we share some problems with certain people thinking that he may "grow out of it" - arrghhh!!!! I found your comments very helpful. I will be adding you to my blogroll and will read and comment as much as possible though sometimes am just too knackered for obvious reasons. All good wishes to you, Fran x
ReplyDeleteStunning photos especially after just admiring your 'new' header photo which is adorable, it does take you back indeed.
ReplyDeleteOOOH! I love that first one.
ReplyDeleteMakes you want to be the first to leave footprints.
ReplyDeleteGosh, it wasn't that long ago was it, but hard to believe it lasted like it did, when we have had such hot weather the last few days. Lovely photographs
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of winter or snow, but considering that it's 90 degrees in NJ today and I don't have an air conditioner in my bedroom window yet, I must admit that just looking at your snowy photos is making me cooler already! :)
ReplyDeleteMakes me feel all serene just looking at them - just love fresh snow x
ReplyDeleteLast night it was blissfully warm here and bright till 10pm. Can't believe the snow was just a few weeks ago...It tried to snow here on Clee Hill 3 weeks ago, but it came to nothing, phew!
