Beauty of Autumn Colours

As you will see from the photographs below, we have once again experienced some stunning scenery in Scotland and have memories that will stay with us forever. We've had a wonderful time. Arrived on Thursday afternoon, I unpacked and chilled out, The Farmer went for a walk along the river whilst Amy watched her DVDs. On Friday The Farmer was fishing all day so Amy and I went into Pitlochry then came back and had a swim in the hotel pool. I was a little disappointed with it however, as they had roped the best half off for those who wished to swim up and down only, and as there was only one person swimming whom I suspected was a member anyway, it meant everyone else who seemed to be on holiday had to squeeze into the "leisure" section. Quite poor management if you ask me, especially when we pay good money for the use of the hotel's facilities which includes the Living Well Health Club. The Farmer went fishing again on Saturday so Amy and I had a walk along the river, another trip to Pitlochry then a dip in the pool. It was busier than Friday which meant we only stayed in for half an hour before we decided to get out and chillax in the room until dinner. On the Sunday, The Farmer took us for a drive into the mountains. I can't get enough of the scenery up there, it mesmerizes me. The highlight of the Farmer's day was standing near the gates to Balmoral when Prince Charles drove past and waved to him! I saw the car as it drove past but I didn't see the Prince. The Farmer thinks Camilla was in the passenger seat but he wasn't sure. Typical man! If my farmer was a woman, he'd have noticed the colour of her highlights, her eyeshadow and her gloves. I let him off though because he was so chuffed at receiving a royal wave. And to top his day off even more, on our journey back through the mountains, we came across a flock of mountain sheep being herded by two collies and a shepherd down the mountain and across the road. We stopped and my farmer got out and helped get the sheep to safety. The shepherd shouted his thanks and off we drove. Here are some photographs for you:

  4. Looks fabulous. It's amazing how a three-day break can give you so much. I prefer a few shorter breaks spread over the year than weeks away all in one go.

  10. So glad you had a good break and a royal wave too. That scenery is to die for. I expect the farmer quite enjoyed helping with the sheep - a sort of busman's holiday!

  17. Hey you. Glad you had a fab time. I should have texted you as if I had realised you were going to Braemar, we'd have hotfooted it across to say hi. Gosh, Amy looks soooo tall. She's all grown up. Hopefully next year on the way down the road..

  18. There is a series of, I think, seven mountains smack in the middle of Pennsylvania that your pictures remind me of. You drive out of the woods and BAM, there you are among them.

What a spectacular trip this must have been. Just beautiful pictures.
